Recordings

This database represents the holdings (LPs, CDs + some 78s) of Cuban Recordings at ARC. It began in earnest with Mr. George’s first trip to Cuba in 2000, and has been added to on subsequent visits. Many Cuban labels including Acheré, Areito, Artex, Bis, Egrem and Unicornio have made very generous contributors, as have Allan Bastos, Zero Freitas and Ed Steinberg.  We’ve cataloged about 1,400 here, maybe another 300 to go.

USING THE DATABASE  The last field “source” tells you ARC owns it, and sometimes the name of the donor.  The search box below does a find in all fields you see, and some you don’t — so you can also search by genre, style, geographical region or country. Hit the field name to sort by that field. Much info will be arriving daily and we will try to keep up, as well as edit mistakes as we find them. Feel free to send corrections.
